3:00 Presentation by Ron Fitch: Introduction To Your Brain
Topics will include:
* Emotions .vs. Feelings - What is an Emotion? What is a Feeling?
* A user-friendly explanation of some of the major areas of our brain, what they do, and what happens if those areas "malfunction"
* An explanation of the major brain waves, what they are and how they can be improved. Learn what places, on the forehead can be improved for handling "stress" (anxiety or unhappiness) and what places on the head can be worked for short-term memory improvement or for long-term memory enhancement.
* Overview of what a Brain map is all about
* A brief explanation of Add, Adhd, OCD, etc. Why people with these disorders do what they do
* How our Brain is involved in the process of "Shutting Off Our Confusion" (which leads to our goofy computations about life)
* An simple explanation of our "Memory Circuits" and how they can be improved with NFB and Memory Recall Improvement (M-R-I); essentially Straight-wire and Lock-Scanning.

Holiday Anime Faire - Saturday, December 5th
Features Manga Start art classes, artist demos, anime shopping, arts and crafts, gift-making – cards, plushies, ornaments; an anime viewing lounge, anime & holiday music. $5.00 entrance fee includes a goodie bag and two activity tickets. More tickets are available for $1 each and can be used for creating art projects and some snacks.

A GRATITUDE THANKSGIVING
Cafe Gratitude has been serving a FREE Thanksgiving Meal at their restaurants for the past 5 years. Each year, participating Cafe Gratitude locations have served a free meal to an average of 300 people! This is Café Gratitude’s give back to customers for their support and patronage. On Thanksgiving, the cafes operate on 100% volunteer efforts, comprised of staff and community members.
This year we have 4 Cafe Gratitude locations participating. Please join us at Cafe Gratitude in San Rafael, Healdsburg, San Francisco and Berkeley from 11am till 3pm. Bring your friends and family. Bring someone new. Come and serve your community.
To volunteer, please arrive at the Cafe Gratitude nearest you, between 11am and 3pm. No need to RSVP. Together, we will serve as many meals as we can, until all the food is served.

Free event at the Central Berkeley Public Library, Saturday Oct 31, 2-3 pm.
Author Thomas Turman presents his new book WAWA, West Africa Wins Again, an architect’s humorous 60’s memoir of teaching in Ghana.
Turman joined Buckminster Fuller and an international group of architects and engineers to form an experimental faculty at the University of Science and Technology in Ghana. He recently returned to teach, visit former students/friends, and help with accreditation of the department.
